SEE ALSO...

CNT1 Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CNT1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CNT1 (G-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CNT1 protein, also known as solute carrier family 28 (sodium-coupled nucleoside transporter), member 1 (SLC28A1), plays a crucial role in the transport of nucleosides across the plasma membrane, which is essential for cellular signaling and metabolism. Specifically, CNT1 facilitates the sodium-dependent uptake of uridine, azidodeoxythymidine (AZT), and adenosine, while not transporting guanosine or deoxyadenosine, which are instead secreted by the kidneys. This selectivity suggests CNT1 may be involved in the renal reabsorption of physiologic nucleosides and synthetic nucleoside drugs, thereby influencing therapeutic outcomes in the treatment of neoplastic and viral diseases. The deduced human CNT1 protein consists of 650 amino acids and exhibits 83% identity with the rat counterpart, with expression primarily in the intestine, kidney, and liver, highlighting CNT1′s importance in both nutrient absorption and drug pharmacokinetics.
