CNG-β3 Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects CNG-β3 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CNG-β3 (C-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CNG-β3, also known as cyclic-nucleotide-gated cation channel beta 3, plays a crucial role in cyclic nucleotide-gated channels, which are essential for sensory transduction in visual and olfactory systems. These channels are heteromeric complexes composed of alpha and beta subunits, where beta subunits, including CNG-β3, do not form functional channels independently but modulate properties of channels formed by alpha subunits. CNG-β3 is specifically activated by cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), leading to rod photoreceptor depolarization, which is vital for converting light signals into electrical signals in the retina. Additionally, CNG-β3 is expressed in select retinal photoreceptor cells and testis, and mutations in CNG-β3 can result in achromatopsia, a genetic condition characterized by impaired color vision and other visual deficiencies. Anti-CNG-β3 antibody (C-4) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying sensory transduction mechanisms and pathophysiology of related visual disorders.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-398211 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
