CMV pp72/86 Antibody (CH160) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects the CMV pp72/86 protein of CMV origin by western blotting (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-CMV pp72/86 antibody (CH160) is available as the non-conjugated format. Cytomegalovirus (CMV), also known as human herpesvirus 5 (HHV-5), is a member of the herpes virus family, which includes other notable viruses such as herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2, Varicella Zoster Virus, and Epstein Barr virus. While CMV typically causes mild symptoms in healthy individuals, CMV can lead to severe complications in immunocompromised patients. CMV pp72 protein plays a crucial role during the viral lifecycle, particularly in the regulation of immune responses. CMV pp72 interacts with CMV pp86 protein to enhance the expression of HLA-G, a non-classical major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecule that helps the virus evade the host′s immune system. This interaction is vital for the virus′s ability to persist in the host and can influence the outcome of CMV infection, making the study of these proteins essential for understanding CMV pathogenesis and developing potential therapeutic strategies.
