SEE ALSO...

CLEC-4E Antibody (E-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects human CLEC-4E by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CLEC-4E (E-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CLEC-4E, also known as Mincle (Macrophage-inducible C-type lectin) or CLECSF9, is a 219 amino acid single-pass type II membrane protein that plays a crucial role in immune response. CLEC-4E is primarily expressed in monocytes and functions as a receptor that recognizes specific carbohydrate structures on pathogens, thereby facilitating immune cell activation and subsequent inflammatory response. CLEC-4E contains a C-type lectin domain, which is essential for binding to glycoproteins and other carbohydrate-containing molecules, highlighting CLEC-4E′s importance in pathogen recognition and immune signaling. Human CLEC-4E shares 67% sequence identity with mouse CLEC-4E, indicating a conserved function across species. CLEC-4E is located in a region associated with natural killer cell genes on human chromosome 12 and exists in multiple alternatively spliced isoforms, further underscoring CLEC-4E′s functional diversity in immune regulation.

Can CLEC-4E (E-5): sc-390807 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. Yes, CLEC-4E (E-5): sc-390807 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
