CLEC-4E Antibody (B-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects CLEC-4E protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CLEC-4E (B-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CLEC-4E protein, also known as Mincle (Macrophage-inducible C-type lectin) or CLECSF9, is a 219 amino acid single-pass type II membrane protein that plays a crucial role in the immune response. CLEC-4E is primarily expressed in monocytes and is involved in the recognition of pathogens, thereby initiating inflammatory responses. CLEC-4E contains a C-type lectin domain, which is essential for cell-cell signaling and glycoprotein turnover. CLEC-4E functions as a downstream target of C/EBP β, suggesting involvement in transcriptional regulation during inflammation. Multiple alternatively spliced isoforms of CLEC-4E, encoded by a gene located in the natural killer gene complex region on human chromosome 12, highlights the complexity of regulation and function. Human CLEC-4E shares 67% sequence identity with mouse CLEC-4E, indicating a conserved role across species, which is vital for understanding function in various biological contexts.
