CLASP2 Antibody (F-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CLASP2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CLASP2 (F-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CLASP2, also known as cytoplasmic linker associated protein 2, KIAA0627, or hOrbit2, is a 1,294 amino acid protein characterized by five HEAT repeats and is primarily localized in the cytoplasm, cytoskeleton, kinetochore, and Golgi apparatus. CLASP2 expression is particularly prominent in brain tissue, where CLASP2 functions as a microtubule plus-end tracking protein, crucial for regulating dynamic microtubule stability and ensuring proper polarization of cytoplasmic microtubule arrays in migrating cells. CLASP2 interacts with several key proteins, including EB1, EB3, ELKS, and CLIP-115, which not only stabilizes microtubules but also plays a vital role in maintaining kinetochore stability and ensuring accurate chromosomal alignment during cell division. CLASP2 undergoes phosphorylation by glycogen synthase kinase 3 beta, a modification that reduces microtubule-binding capacity. Two isoforms of CLASP2, designated beta and gamma, arise from alternative splicing, further diversifying functional roles in cellular processes.
