CIRP Antibody (1C9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CIRP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CIRP antibody (1C9) is available as the non-conjugated format. CIRP, also known as cold inducible RNA binding protein or A18HNRNP, is a 172 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in cellular stress responses, particularly in the nucleus where CIRP contains one RNA recognition motif domain. CIRP is expressed ubiquitously and is essential for the suppression of cellular proliferation in response to environmental stressors such as UV irradiation and extreme cold, highlighting CIRP′s importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis. Human CIRP shares 95% sequence identity with mouse CIRP, indicating a conserved function across species, which is particularly relevant in the context of diseases such as endometrial carcinoma. CIRP is encoded on human chromosome 19, a region that also harbors several immunoglobulin superfamily members, including killer cell and leukocyte Ig-like receptors, various intercellular adhesion molecules, and Fc receptors, underscoring CIRP′s potential involvement in immune regulation and cellular signaling pathways.
