CHST1 Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CHST1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CHST1, also known as KSGal6ST or KSST, is a keratan sulfate sulfotransferase that plays a crucial role in the sulfation of keratan in the cornea, which is essential for maintaining corneal transparency. CHST1 is predominantly expressed in the brain and skeletal muscle, where CHST1 localizes to the trans-Golgi network, facilitating the transfer of sulfate groups from 3′-phosphoadenosine 5′-phosphosulfate to specific galactose residues on keratan sulfate chains. Proper functioning of CHST1 is vital, as CHST1 not only contributes to the structural integrity of the cornea but also aids in the generation of L-selectin ligands, which are important for leukocyte trafficking and immune response.
