CHMP6 Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CHMP6 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CHMP6 (B-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The charged multivesicular body proteins, known as CHMPs, are integral components of the endosomal sorting complexes required for transport (ESCRT) machinery, which plays a vital role in sorting endosomal cargo into multivesicular bodies (MVBs). Specifically, CHMP6, also referred to as VPS20, is essential for the assembly of the ESCRT-III complex, which is crucial for the budding and release of enveloped viruses, including HIV-1. The interaction of CHMP6 with other ESCRT proteins, such as CHMP4, SNF8, VPS25, and VPS36, highlights CHMP6′s importance in regulating cargo sorting and facilitating MVB formation. By acting as an acceptor for ESCRT-II on endosomal membranes, CHMP6 ensures proper trafficking and degradation of cellular components, making CHMP6 a key player in maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to viral infections.
