CHMP3 Antibody (C-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CHMP3 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CHMP3, also known as Vps24, plays a pivotal role in the endosomal sorting complex required for transport (ESCRT) machinery, which is essential for proper sorting of endosomal cargo into multivesicular bodies (MVBs). CHMP3 is crucial for disassembly of the ESCRT-III complex in an ATP-dependent manner, working with CHMP2 and CHMP4. CHMP3′s importance extends to viral processes, particularly during HIV-1 infection, where CHMP3 mediates budding and exocytosis of viral proteins; notably, CHMP3 overexpression significantly inhibits HIV-1 release, highlighting potential therapeutic intervention targets. CHMP3 expression occurs in various tissues, including brain, skeletal muscle, heart, lung, kidney, and liver, indicating fundamental roles in cellular processes across multiple organ systems.
