SEE ALSO...

CHMP1A Antibody (B-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CHMP1A protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CHMP1A (B-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CHMP1A protein plays a vital role in the endosomal sorting process, as CHMP1A serves as a key component of the endosomal sorting complex required for transport (ESCRT) machinery, which is essential for the formation of multivesicular bodies (MVBs). These structures are crucial for the degradation of membrane proteins and the regulation of various cellular processes, including receptor downregulation and the release of exosomes. CHMP1A interacts with VPS4B, a protein involved in the disassembly of ESCRT complexes, and primarily localizes to early endosomes, where CHMP1A facilitates the sorting of endosomal cargo. Notably, there are two isoforms of CHMP1, CHMP1A and CHMP1B, which are encoded by distinct genes and may have different regulatory roles in cellular processes. Overexpression of CHMP1A can lead to the dilation of endosomal compartments, disrupting the normal distribution of endosomal markers and potentially contributing to various pathophysiological conditions.
