cHMGCS Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects cHMGCS protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-cHMGCS antibody (A-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. cHMGCS protein plays a crucial role in synthesizing HMG-CoA, a key intermediate in the mevalonate pathway, leading to essential biomolecules like cholesterol and isoprenoids. This pathway is vital for cellular functions, including membrane integrity and signaling, as well as steroid hormone and vitamin synthesis. cHMGCS enzyme is predominantly located in the cytoplasm, where cHMGCS condenses acetyl-CoA with acetoacetyl-CoA to form HMG-CoA, which is subsequently converted into mevalonate by HMG-CoA reductase. Nutritional states tightly control cHMGCS regulation; fasting and elevated levels of cAMP and fatty acids enhance transcription, while feeding and insulin signaling lead to repression.
