SEE ALSO...

Ceruloplasmin Antibody (H-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects ceruloplasmin from mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ceruloplasmin antibody (H-3) is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Ceruloplasmin (CP) is a blue plasma glycoprotein synthesized in hepatocytes, playing a crucial role in copper transport throughout the body. Known as ferroxidase, ceruloplasmin consists of three homologous domains resulting from intragenic triplication, existing in two splice variants, CP-1 and CP-2, which show differential expression in specific tissues. Ceruloplasmin is primarily expressed in human liver, macrophages, and lymphocytes, where ceruloplasmin binds copper, typically carrying six or seven cupric ions per molecule. Ceruloplasmin participates in iron oxidation, converting Fe(II) transferrin to Fe(III) transferrin, a process essential for iron metabolism. The structural integrity of ceruloplasmin is vital, as only the intact long form can effectively catalyze iron loading into ferritin, highlighting the importance of its three-dimensional structure in enzymatic function. Ceruloplasmin can induce low-density lipoprotein oxidation in vitro, a process requiring a single, chelatable copper atom. A glycosyl phosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored form of ceruloplasmin is expressed by Sertoli cells, suggesting potential significance in reproductive biology.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with ceruloplasmin (H-3): sc-365205 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining

Rated 3 out of 5 by from DisappointI got Anti-ceruloplasmin Antibody (H-3)-sample from scbt. It worked great, so I purchased a full Anti-ceruloplasmin Antibody (H-3) antibody. However, the full one is not as good as the sample. The blot looks very dirty.
