SEE ALSO...

CEP164 Antibody (E-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CEP164 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CEP164 (E-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CEP164, also known as Centrosomal protein of 164 kDa, is a crucial component of the centrosome, which serves as the primary microtubule-organizing center in mammalian cells. CEP164 is essential for the proper assembly of the bipolar mitotic spindle, playing a significant role in centriole duplication and centrosome maturation. Disruptions in these processes can lead to spindle defects, resulting in aneuploidy and potentially contributing to cancer progression. CEP164 consists of 1,460 amino acids and maintains genomic stability during cell division, particularly at the G2/M checkpoint. CEP164 participates in the phosphorylation of key proteins such as Chk1, Chk2, Histone H2A, and RPA, which are critical for the DNA-damage-activated ATR/ATM signaling cascade. CEP164 localizes to the centrioles throughout mitosis, ensuring proper chromosomal segregation. Two isoforms of CEP164 are produced through alternative splicing, which may have distinct functional roles in cellular processes.
