Centaurin α1 Antibody (G-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Centaurin alpha 1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Centaurin α1 antibody (G-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Centaurin alpha 1 protein plays a crucial role in cellular signaling and membrane trafficking, particularly through its function as a high-affinity phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate (PtdIns(3,4,5)P3) binding protein, which is predominantly enriched in the brain. Centaurin α1 is integral to the regulation of ADP-ribosylation factor 6 (ARF6), acting as a GTPase-activating protein that effectively switches off ARF6, thereby inhibiting its role in mediating β2-adrenoceptor internalization. Centaurin α1′s ability to negatively regulate ARF6 activity is vital for maintaining proper cellular functions, as this regulation ensures precise control of membrane traffic and cytoskeletal organization. Centaurin α1 is part of the Centaurin GTPase-activating protein family, which includes other important regulators such as ASAP1 and ACAP1, highlighting Centaurin α1′s significance in transducing phosphoinositide 3-kinase activation into coordinated control of ARF-dependent pathways.
