CDO Antibody (A-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CDO protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CDO antibody (A-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The Cell adhesion molecule-related/down-regulated by oncogenes (CDO) protein plays a crucial role in myogenic differentiation and is essential for muscle development. Located on the cell surface, CDO interacts with other proteins such as BOC, NEO1, CTNNB1, and cadherins, forming a receptor complex that mediates cell-cell interactions among muscle cells. This interaction is vital for the positive feedback loop with MyoD, a key myogenic transcription factor, which drives the differentiation of myoblasts into mature muscle fibers. The rat CDO protein consists of 1,242 amino acids, featuring a 24-residue signal sequence, five immunoglobulin V-like repeats, a 25-residue membrane-spanning region, three fibronectin type III-like repeats, and a cytoplasmic region that includes a proline-rich stretch. The human CDO protein, comprising 1,225 amino acids, exhibits significant homology with the rat protein, underscoring the evolutionary conservation of its structure and function across species.
