CDK2AP1 Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects CDK2AP1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CDK2AP1, also known as p12 or DOC-1, plays a crucial role as a growth suppressor by binding to and inhibiting DNA polymerase α/primase, thereby affecting DNA replication initiation without interfering with elongation. CDK2AP1 regulation is vital for maintaining genomic stability and preventing uncontrolled cell proliferation, which is particularly important in cancer. Additionally, CDK2AP1 interacts with cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (Cdk2), leading to targeted degradation, which further promotes cell cycle arrest during S phase and may initiate apoptosis. CDK2AP1 expression is transcriptionally induced by growth factor TGFβ1, linking CDK2AP1 to TGFβ1′s growth inhibitory effects through modulation of Cdk2 activities and phosphorylation of retinoblastoma protein (pRB). Given CDK2AP1′s potential to trigger apoptosis, anti-CDK2AP1 antibody (A-9) serves as an essential tool for researchers studying cell cycle regulation and cancer biology, particularly in oral cancer research.
