CD97 Antibody (G-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CD97 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CD97 (G-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CD97 is a member of the EGF-TM7 protein family, characterized by an extended extracellular region with variable N-terminal EGF-like domains linked to a seven-span transmembrane stalk. This structural configuration allows CD97 to interact with CD55 (decay accelerating factor), which protects cells from complement-mediated damage. CD97 and CD55 interaction drives cellular processes like activation, migration, and adhesion, particularly during inflammation. CD97 expression increases in thyroid, colorectal, gastric, pancreatic, and esophageal carcinomas, correlating with tumor dedifferentiation, staging, and enhanced cell migration and invasion. CD97 expression patterns differ from EMR2 homolog, suggesting potential use as a biomarker and therapeutic target in cancer research.
