SEE ALSO...

CD8 Antibody (32-M4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CD8 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-CD8 antibody (32-M4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CD8 protein, also known as Leu 2 or T8, is a crucial cell surface glycoprotein that forms a two-chain complex (either αα or αβ) and plays a vital role in the immune response by binding to class I major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules presented by antigen-presenting cells (APCs). This interaction is essential for the activation of T cytotoxic cells, which are responsible for directly killing infected or cancerous cells. CD8 enhances the avidity of T cell receptor (TCR) interactions with antigens, thereby facilitating effective immune responses. CD8-expressing T cells may contribute to the maintenance of low levels of HIV expression, highlighting CD8′s importance in both adaptive immunity and viral control.
