CD8-α Antibody (D-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that specifically detects the CD8-α chain of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CD8-α, also known as CD8A, T8, Leu-2, or T-lymphocyte differentiation antigen, is a transmembrane glycoprotein located on the surface of cytotoxic T lymphocytes. The localization of CD8-α on the plasma membrane is crucial because CD8-α serves as a co-receptor with the T cell receptor (TCR), facilitating the recognition of antigen-presenting cells by binding to major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecules.
