SEE ALSO...

CD79B Antibody (SN8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CD79B in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD79B, also known as B29, plays a crucial role in the immune response as a component of the B cell antigen receptor complex, which is essential for B cell activation and signaling. CD79B is primarily located on the surface of B cells, where CD79B associates with membrane immunoglobulin, such as IgM or IgD, to facilitate antigen recognition and presentation. The interaction between CD79B and these immunoglobulins is vital for proper B cell functioning, enabling effective pathogen response. Additionally, CD79B′s cytoplasmic tail contains an immuno-receptor tyrosine-based activation motif (ITAM), which is critical for initiating downstream signaling pathways that lead to B cell activation and proliferation. Anti-CD79B antibody (SN8) enables valuable insights into B cell biology and immune response mechanisms.

Can CD79B (SN8): sc-18902 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, CD79B (SN8): sc-18902 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
