CD55 Antibody (NaM16-4D3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CD55 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD55 (NaM16-4D3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CD55, also known as decay-accelerating factor (DAF), is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored single-chain glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in regulating the complement system. By inhibiting the formation of the C3 convertase enzyme complex, CD55 prevents complement-mediated lysis of cells, thereby protecting them from damage during immune responses. This protective function is particularly important in tissues that are in contact with serum, as CD55 is expressed on a variety of cell types, including hematopoietic and many non-hematopoietic cells.
