SEE ALSO...

CD55 Antibody (H-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CD55 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CD55 (H-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CD55, also known as decay accelerating factor (DAF), is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored single-chain glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in regulating the complement system. CD55 is primarily located on the surface of cells that are in contact with serum, including both hematopoietic and many non-hematopoietic cells. CD55 expression on these cells is vital as CD55 protects them from complement-mediated lysis by inhibiting the formation of the membrane attack complex, thereby preventing potential damage from the immune response. CD55 interacts with specific proteins such as C3b and C4b, which are key components of the complement pathway, further underscoring CD55′s importance in maintaining cellular integrity and immune homeostasis.
