CD47 Antibody (OX101) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CD47 protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD47 Antibody (OX101) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CD47 is an integral membrane protein that plays a crucial role in regulating cation fluxes across cell membranes, which is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and signaling. CD47 is involved in the increase of intracellular calcium concentration that occurs upon cell adhesion to the extracellular matrix, facilitating important cellular processes such as migration and proliferation. CD47 serves as a receptor for the C-terminal cell-binding domain of thrombospondin, which is significant for cell-cell interactions and tissue repair. CD47 is absent from Rh-null erythrocytes, yet plays a critical role in cell adhesion in non-erythroid cells and may help prevent premature elimination of erythrocytes. CD47 is expressed on various cell types, including hemopoietic cells, epithelial cells, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts, with particularly strong expression in brain and mesenchymal cells, highlighting CD47′s importance in both normal physiology and potential pathological conditions.
