SEE ALSO...

CD40 Antibody (H-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects CD40 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CD40 antibody (H-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CD40 plays a crucial role in the immune response, primarily functioning as a co-stimulatory signal that is essential for B cell activation and differentiation. CD40 is located on the surface of B cells and interacts with CD40 ligand (CD40L) expressed on activated T cells, facilitating the communication necessary for B cell proliferation and immunoglobulin class switching. This interaction is vital for the generation of effective antibody responses, particularly in the context of T cell-dependent antigens. CD40′s importance in immune regulation is underscored by CD40′s involvement in various immunological processes, including the promotion of memory B cell formation and the enhancement of antibody affinity maturation. Dysregulation of CD40 signaling can lead to immune deficiencies or autoimmune diseases, making CD40 a significant target for therapeutic interventions.

Can CD40 Antibody (H-10) antibody be used in western blot or IHC of rat tissue?

Asked by: H_Raphael
Thank you for your question. We do not yet have any data or product citations using this antibody in rat samples, and so it is not a recommended species at this time. As an alternative, we would recommend using, CD40 Antibody (HM40-3): sc-20010.

Can CD40 (H-10): sc-13128 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, CD40 (H-10): sc-13128 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
