CD3-ζ Antibody (H146-968) is a hamster monoclonal IgG2 antibody that detects CD3-ζ in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CD3-ζ plays a crucial role in T cell activation as a part of the T cell receptor (TCR) complex, which is essential for the immune response. CD3-ζ is located in the plasma membrane of T cells, where CD3-ζ forms a part of the CD3 complex alongside other invariant polypeptide chains. This localization is vital because CD3-ζ transduces signals from the TCR upon antigen recognition, leading to T cell activation and proliferation. The presence of multiple immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motifs (ITAMs) within the CD3-ζ chain enhances CD3-ζ′s ability to recruit and activate downstream signaling molecules, such as ZAP-70, which are critical for initiating the T cell response. The unique structural features of CD3-ζ, including three ITAMs, underscore CD3-ζ′s importance in the signaling cascade that ultimately determines T cell fate and function, making CD3-ζ a key target for research in immunology and therapeutic interventions. Anti-CD3-ζ antibody (H146-968) is therefore an invaluable tool for studying T cell biology and the mechanisms underlying immune responses.
