SEE ALSO...

CD3-ε Antibody (UCH-T1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the CD3-epsilon protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-CD3-ε antibody (UCH-T1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The CD3-epsilon protein plays a crucial role in the immune response as a component of the T cell receptor (TCR) complex, which is essential for T cell activation and signaling. Located on the surface of T cells, CD3-epsilon is part of a multisubunit complex that transmits signals upon recognition of foreign antigens, leading to T cell activation and proliferation. This process is vital for the adaptive immune response, allowing the body to effectively respond to pathogens. The CD3 complex consists of several invariant polypeptide chains, including CD3-γ, CD3-δ, and CD3-ζ, which work together to facilitate the signaling cascade initiated by TCR engagement. Notably, the presence of immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motifs (ITAMs) within these chains is critical for recruiting signaling molecules, such as ZAP-70, which further propagate the activation signal. Understanding the function and importance of CD3-epsilon is essential for developing therapeutic strategies targeting T cell responses in various diseases, including cancer and autoimmune disorders.

I have used your CD3e (sc-1127) for years on various animal tissue. Now I see that it has been discontinued and the recommended replacement is human specific. Can I get a sample of a CD3 antibody that you think might have the best chance of working in dog

Asked by: MMWi
Thank you for your question. We are currently offering a free 10 µg sample of our mouse monoclonal antibody, CD3-ε (UCH-T1): sc-1179, and I would be happy to send it to you to test in your samples. Unfortunately, we do not have any evidence of any of our CD3-ε antibodies working for dog at this time. And we do not provide sample sizes for any of the other CD3-ε antibodies. Please contact our Technical Service Department if you would like help with performing sequence analysis to predict if any of our other antibodies might be expected to cross react with dog. Please call us toll-free at (800) 457-3801 option 2, e-mail <scbt@scbt.com>, or use the live chat on our website.

Can CD3-ε (UCH-T1): sc-1179 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, CD3-ε (UCH-T1): sc-1179 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
