CD3-ε Antibody (145-2C11) is a hamster monoclonal IgG antibody that detects CD3-ε of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD3-ε (145-2C11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CD3-ε plays a crucial role in the immune response as a component of the T cell receptor (TCR) complex, which is essential for T cell activation and signaling. CD3-ε is located on the surface of T cells, where CD3-ε forms part of a multisubunit complex that transmits signals upon recognition of foreign antigens. CD3-ε initiates a cascade of intracellular signaling events that lead to T cell activation, proliferation, and differentiation, which are vital for an effective immune response. The CD3 complex, which includes CD3-ε, consists of five invariant polypeptide chains that form three distinct dimers, facilitating the transmission of signals that ultimately determine the fate of T cells in immune responses. Understanding the function and signaling mechanisms of CD3-ε is critical for developing therapeutic strategies targeting T cell-mediated diseases and enhancing immune responses in various clinical settings.

Can CD3-ε (145-2C11): sc-18871 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, CD3-ε (145-2C11): sc-18871 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
