CD206 Antibody (D-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody raised against amino acids 1090-1389 within the extracellular domain of human CD206, detecting CD206 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CD206, also known as the Mannose Receptor (MR), Macrophage Mannose Receptor (MMR), or Mannose Receptor C Type 1 (MRC1), is a type I membrane receptor protein predominantly expressed on macrophages, immature dendritic cells, hepatic and lymphatic endothelial cells, retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), and mesangial cells. CD206 undergoes significant post-translational modifications, particularly N-linked glycosylation, which is crucial for proper folding, stability, and ligand-binding activity. N-linked glycosylation of CD206 enhances recognition and binding of carbohydrate ligands on pathogen surfaces, facilitating endocytosis and neutralization by phagocytic cells. The extracellular portion of CD206 includes eight C-type lectin-like carbohydrate recognition domains (CRDs) clustered together to provide high-affinity binding to saccharides, and multiple CRDs distinguish CD206 from other C-type lectins. Through mediation of glycoprotein endocytosis and phagocytic engulfment of pathogens, CD206 plays a critical role in innate immunity and rapid clearance of mannose-bearing serum glycoproteins during inflammation. anti-CD206 antibody (D-1) serves as a valuable tool for researchers studying expression, post-translational modifications, and function of CD206, contributing to advancements in immunological research and potential therapeutic developments.
