SEE ALSO...

CD100 Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CD100 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CD100 (C-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CD100, also known as SEMA4D, is a transmembrane protein that plays a crucial role in the immune system, being the only semaphorin family member expressed in immune cells. CD100 is essential for T cell proliferation and B cell aggregation, as CD100 regulates B cell responses by counteracting the inhibitory signal from CD72, which typically suppresses B cell activity. When CD100 binds to CD72, CD100 induces tyrosine dephosphorylation of CD72, leading to the dissociation of SHP-1, a negative regulator of B cell signaling. This mechanism highlights CD100′s importance in modulating immune responses, particularly in T and B cell interactions. The gene encoding human CD100 is located on chromosome 9q22.2, and CD100 expression is observed in various tissues, including embryonic and adult kidney, heart, lung, and neural tissues, indicating CD100′s multifaceted role in both development and immune function.
