Cathepsin B Antibody (H-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects cathepsin B protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-cathepsin B antibody (H-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing flexibility for different experimental needs. Cathepsin B, a member of the cysteine protease family, plays a crucial role in protein degradation and is involved in various cellular processes, including apoptosis and antigen processing. Expression in luminal epithelial cells highlights cathepsin B′s significance as a marker for secretory cell death, making cathepsin B an important target for studies related to cancer and other diseases where cell death is a critical factor. Understanding cathepsin B function is vital, as dysregulation can lead to pathological conditions, including tumor progression and metastasis. Cathepsin B′s ability to activate other proteases and involvement in extracellular matrix remodeling further underscore cathepsin B′s importance in both normal physiology and disease states.
