CAT-1 Antibody (F-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CAT-1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CAT-1 (F-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The high-affinity cationic amino acid transporter-1 (CAT-1), also known as ecotropic retroviral leukemia receptor homolog, ATRC1, or REC1L, is an integral membrane protein that plays a crucial role in the transport of cationic amino acids across cell membranes. CAT-1 is predominantly expressed in non-hepatic tissues, where CAT-1 functions as a high-affinity, low-capacity permease, facilitating the uptake of essential cationic amino acids such as arginine and lysine, which are vital for protein synthesis and cellular signaling. CAT-1′s importance extends beyond amino acid transport, as CAT-1 is also implicated in various physiological processes, including cell growth and differentiation, making CAT-1 a significant target for research in cancer and metabolic disorders. SLC7A1, the gene encoding CAT-1, is located on chromosome 13q12-q14, highlighting CAT-1′s relevance in genetic studies related to amino acid transport and associated pathologies.
