Caspase-11 Antibody (17D9) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects caspase-11 of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-caspase-11 antibody (17D9) is available as a non-conjugated format. Caspase-11 is primarily located in the cytosol of immune cells, where caspase-11 plays a pivotal role in inflammatory response and cell death pathways. Caspase-11 localization allows for rapid activation in response to cytosolic danger signals, such as bacterial lipopolysaccharides, which can trigger inflammatory cell death known as pyroptosis. This process is essential for host defense against infections, as caspase-11 helps eliminate infected cells and release pro-inflammatory cytokines, thereby recruiting additional immune cells to the site of infection. Dysregulation of caspase-11 activity has been implicated in various inflammatory diseases, making caspase-11 a significant target for therapeutic intervention. Understanding caspase-11 function and localization is vital for developing strategies to modulate caspase-11 activity in disease contexts, particularly in conditions characterized by excessive inflammation.
