SEE ALSO...

CANT1 Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects CANT1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-CANT1 antibody (C-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CANT1, or calcium-activated nucleotidase 1, is a 401 amino acid single-pass type II membrane protein predominantly located in the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus, where CANT1 plays a crucial role in nucleotide metabolism by hydrolyzing nucleotides such as UDP in a calcium-dependent manner. This enzymatic activity is vital for regulating nucleotide levels within cells, which can influence various cellular processes, including signal transduction and energy metabolism. CANT1 is expressed at particularly high levels in tissues such as the testis, placenta, prostate, and small intestine, and CANT1 undergoes post-translational N-glycosylation and alternative splicing, resulting in the production of two distinct isoforms. Notably, mutations in the CANT1 gene are linked to Desbuquois dysplasia, a rare autosomal recessive chondrodysplasia characterized by significant prenatal and postnatal growth retardation, underscoring the importance of CANT1 in normal development and cellular function.
