CaMKKα Antibody (6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects CaMKKα in mouse, rat, human, and canine samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). CaMKKα, or calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase kinase alpha, plays a crucial role in cellular signaling by acting as a key regulator of CaMKI and CaMKIV, which are essential for various physiological processes, including metabolism, gene expression, and cell cycle progression. CaMKKα is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where activation by calcium ions and calmodulin enables phosphorylation and activation of downstream kinases. CaMKKα′s cytoplasmic localization allows rapid responses to changes in intracellular calcium levels, facilitating timely cellular responses to stimuli. Additionally, CaMKKα interacts with several other proteins, including AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), which further underscores its significance in metabolic regulation and energy homeostasis. Anti-CaMKKα antibody (6) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying calcium signaling pathways and their implications in various biological processes and diseases.

I am interested to buy an anti-CAMKK1 but before I have a question. I know that this protein in human is about 55 kDa and I saw in the picture here on the website that it seems bigger (about 68). Why?

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with CaMKKα (6): sc-136280 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10ºC methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
