SEE ALSO...

CaMKKα Antibody (F-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CaMKK alpha protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CaMKKα antibody (F-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CaMKK alpha protein plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways by acting as a key regulator of calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinases, which are essential for various physiological processes, including muscle contraction, neurotransmitter release, and gene expression. Specifically, CaMKK is responsible for phosphorylating and activating CaMKI, which subsequently influences downstream signaling cascades. This activation is particularly important in T cells, where stimulation of the T cell receptor CD3 complex can lead to a significant increase in CaMKI activity, thereby impacting immune responses. Understanding the function of CaMKK alpha and its interactions within these signaling pathways is vital for elucidating its role in health and disease, making CaMKKα (F-2) antibody an invaluable tool for researchers studying calcium signaling and its implications in various biological contexts.

Are there any issues with using sc-17827: CaMKKα (F-2) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-17827 conjugates.

I wanted CaMKKα Anticuerpo (R-73): sc-11370 (https://www.scbt.com/scbt/es/product/camkkalpha-antibody-r-73?requestFrom=search) for human use, and the web page me recommends me this. However, is not intended for humans. Is there another solution?

Asked by: JLLV
Thank you for your question. We have not yet tested this mouse monoclonal, CaMKKα Antibody (F-2): sc-17827, in human samples so we are not sure if it will work or not. We are currently recommending this antibody as an alternative to sc-11370 because we have strong in-house Western blot data, and we are offering a complimentary 10µg sample of this antibody for a limited time. We also offer an alternative antibody that is recommended for detection of human, CaMKKα Antibody (6): sc-136280. (https://www.scbt.com/scbt/product/camkkalpha-antibody-6). Please contact our Technical Service Department if you would like assistance choosing the best product for your research needs.
