    SEE ALSO...

cadherin-16 Antibody (H-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects cadherin-16 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-cadherin-16 antibody (H-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. cadherin-16, also known as Ksp-cadherin, is a type I membrane protein that plays a crucial role in kidney function by mediating cell-cell adhesion specifically in renal tubular epithelial cells. cadherin-16 is localized exclusively to the basolateral membrane of these cells, which is vital for maintaining the integrity of the renal epithelium and facilitating proper kidney filtration and reabsorption processes. The human Ksp-cadherin gene is located on chromosome 16q22, while the mouse counterpart is found in a highly syntenic region of distal chromosome 8. The unique structure of cadherin-16, characterized by its large extracellular domain containing five homologous repeats, is essential for binding specificity and function, underscoring its importance in renal tissue architecture and overall kidney health.

Can cadherin-16 (H-10): sc-393132 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. Yes, cadherin-16 (H-10): sc-393132 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
