Datasheets
  • CA VI Antibody (H-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against amino acids 291-335 mapping near the C-terminus of CA VI of rat origin
  • Anti-CA VI Antibody (H-8) is recommended for detection of CA VI of mouse and rat origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • Anti-CA VI Antibody (H-8) is available conjugated to agarose for IP; HRP for WB, IHC(P) and ELISA; and to either phycoerythrin or FITC for IF, IHC(P) and FCM
  • also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 488, Alexa Fluor® 546, Alexa Fluor® 594 or Alexa Fluor® 647 for WB (RGB), IF, IHC(P) and FCM, and for use with RGB fluorescent imaging systems, such as iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems
  • also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 680 or Alexa Fluor® 790 for WB (NIR), IF and FCM; for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR®Odyssey®, iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems
  • m-IgG2b BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for CA VI Antibody (H-8) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with CA VI Antibody (H-8) (see ordering information below).

    SEE ALSO...

CA VI Antibody (H-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects Carbonic anhydrase VI (CA VI) in mouse and rat samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CA VI antibody (H-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CA VI plays a crucial role in taste function by being secreted in saliva, where CA VI protects taste receptor cells from apoptosis, thereby maintaining the integrity of taste perception. CA VI is characterized by a single polypeptide chain that is tightly bound to a zinc ion and features two N-linked glycosylation sites, which are essential for stability and activity. Decreased secretion of CA VI has been linked to taste disorders such as hypogeusia and dysgeusia, as well as alterations in taste bud morphology. Addition of zinc has shown potential in restoring normal CA VI secretion levels and taste bud structure in some individuals experiencing these taste dysfunctions, highlighting the importance of zinc in regulating CA VI function.
