SEE ALSO...

C9 Antibody (E-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects C9 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-C9 antibody (E-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. C9 plays a crucial role in the immune response as a component of the membrane attack complex (MAC), which is essential for the lysis of pathogenic bacteria. Upon activation of the complement system, C9 interacts with the membrane-associated C5b-8 complex, leading to the polymerization of 12-18 C9 molecules into a ring structure that forms a transmembrane channel. This channel allows for the passage of molecules, ultimately resulting in cell lysis and the destruction of the invading bacterial cell. The ability of C9 to form this pore is vital for the immune system′s ability to eliminate pathogens, making C9 monoclonal antibody (E-3) an important tool for studying immune responses and complement system function in various research applications.

Can C9 (E-3): sc-390000 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. Yes, C9 (E-3): sc-390000 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
