    SEE ALSO...

C8γ Antibody (H-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects C8 gamma protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). C8γ (H-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. C8 gamma protein, also known as complement component 8 gamma polypeptide, plays a crucial role in the complement system, which is essential for the innate immune response. C8 gamma protein is one of three polypeptides that make up C8, alongside C8α and C8β, and is vital for the formation of the membrane attack complex that can lyse pathogens. C8γ consists of 202 amino acids and is classified within the lipocalin family, known for binding small hydrophobic molecules, such as retinol. Proper functioning of C8γ is critical, as deficiencies or dysfunctions can lead to increased susceptibility to infections and autoimmune diseases, highlighting its importance in maintaining immune homeostasis.
