    SEE ALSO...

C6ST-1 Antibody (G-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects C6ST-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). C6ST-1 (G-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Chondroitin 6-sulfotransferase-1 (C6ST-1) is a crucial enzyme that plays a significant role in the sulfation of glycosaminoglycans, specifically chondroitin and keratan sulfate, which are vital for maintaining the structural integrity of the extracellular matrix. This 486 amino acid protein is primarily localized in the Golgi apparatus, where C6ST-1 facilitates the addition of sulfate groups to these polysaccharides, influencing various biological processes such as cell signaling, proliferation, and differentiation. C6ST-1 expression is developmentally controlled, with notable expression persisting into adulthood in the spleen, and C6ST-1 upregulation has been linked to enhanced motility of Schwann cells, which are essential for guiding axons during development and in response to injury. C6ST-1′s ability to modify glycosaminoglycans underscores C6ST-1′s importance in both normal physiological functions and potential pathological conditions, making anti-C6ST-1 antibody (G-9) a valuable tool for researchers studying these processes.

Can C6ST-1 (G-9): sc-271696 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. Yes, C6ST-1 (G-9): sc-271696 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
