    SEE ALSO...

BTC Antibody (E-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BTC protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-BTC antibody (E-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Betacellulin (BTC), a member of the epidermal growth factor (EGF) family, plays a crucial role in cellular signaling and growth regulation. BTC is synthesized as a large transmembrane precursor that can be proteolytically cleaved to release a soluble form or function as a membrane-anchored growth factor, facilitating juxtacrine signaling. BTC stimulates homodimerization of ErbB-1 and ErbB-4, and binds and activates various combinations of heterodimeric ErbB receptors, including the oncogenic ErbB-2/ErbB-3 complex, underscoring BTC′s significance in promoting cellular proliferation and differentiation. BTC expression in certain human malignancies suggests potential involvement in tumor growth progression, making BTC a valuable target for therapeutic interventions.
