BRD1 Antibody (F-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BRD1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BRD1 (F-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BRD1 protein, also known as Bromodomain-containing protein 1, is a 1,058 amino acid nuclear protein encoded by the human gene BRD1, which shares homology with Peregrin, a protein believed to act as a transcription factor. BRD1 contains a bromodomain, a PHD-type zinc finger, and a PWWP domain, which are critical for function in chromatin remodeling and gene expression regulation. These domains suggest BRD1 may play a significant role in transcriptional regulation of genes involved in various cellular processes, including those linked to cancer and mental health disorders. Structural similarities between BRD1 and other proteins associated with acute leukemias, such as AF-10 and MLLT6, indicate potential involvement in leukemia development. The chromosomal region 22q12-13, where BRD1 is located, has been implicated in susceptibility to schizophrenia and bipolar affective disorder, highlighting BRD1′s importance in the pathogenesis of these mental illnesses.
