SEE ALSO...

BRAP Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BRAP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BRAP (D-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BRAP protein, also known as BRCA1 associated protein, RNF52, BRAP2, or IMP, is a 592 amino acid protein primarily localized in the cytoplasm and features one UBP-type zinc finger and one RING-type zinc finger. BRAP protein plays a crucial role in cellular signaling by negatively regulating MAP kinase activity, specifically through Ksr-1 scaffold protein inactivation, which limits Raf/MEK complex formation. MAP kinase pathway regulation is vital for controlling cell proliferation and differentiation, making BRAP an important player in cancer biology and other diseases. BRAP may also regulate nuclear transport and functions as a Ras-responsive E3 ubiquitin ligase, which undergoes auto-ubiquitination. BRAP gene is located on human chromosome 12, a region associated with various genetic disorders, including Noonan syndrome and Trisomy 12p, highlighting BRAP′s significance in both normal physiology and disease states.
