BOULE Antibody (B-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects BOULE protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BOULE (B-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BOULE protein plays a crucial role in spermatogenesis, which is the complex developmental process involving mitotic and meiotic cell divisions that ultimately leads to the formation of haploid spermatozoa. As a member of the human deleted in azoospermia (DAZ) family, BOULE functions as a vital regulatory switch that governs the progression of germ cells through meiosis. This RNA-binding protein is essential for the expression of twine, a Cdc25 phosphatase that facilitates meiotic progression. BOULE is not only expressed in the testis but also in the nervous system, suggesting potential involvement in neural communication. Mutations in BOULE gene have been linked to male infertility, and the relative proportions of three isoforms (B1, B2, and B3) may serve as predictive markers for meiotic efficiency, highlighting BOULE′s significance in reproductive health.
