BMP-4 Antibody (3H2.3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects BMP-4 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). BMP-4 (3H2.3) monoclonal antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Bone morphogenic proteins (BMPs), including BMP-4, are critical members of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGFβ) superfamily, playing essential roles in the regulation of bone and cartilage development. BMP-4 is particularly important due to involvement in the activation of the Smad signaling pathway, which is crucial for mediating the cellular responses to BMP signaling. Upon binding to its receptor, BMP-4 facilitates the phosphorylation of Smad1, leading to translocation into the nucleus where Smad1 regulates the expression of target genes involved in osteogenesis and chondrogenesis. This regulatory mechanism underscores BMP-4 significance in developmental processes and tissue homeostasis, as well as potential implications in bone-related disorders.
