BLM hydrolase Antibody (F-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BLM hydrolase of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BLM hydrolase (F-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BLM hydrolase, also known as Bleomycin hydrolase, is a 455 amino acid enzyme encoded by the human gene BLMH and belongs to the cysteine protease papain superfamily and the peptidase C1 family. BLM hydrolase is primarily located in the cytoplasm and functions as a cysteine peptidase, typically existing as a homohexamer. BLM hydrolase plays a crucial role in metabolically inactivating the glycopeptide bleomycin, an important component in combination chemotherapy regimens. BLM hydrolase′s ability to inactivate bleomycin helps mitigate drug toxicity while maintaining effective cancer therapy, highlighting its significance in both therapeutic and protective cellular roles.
