Blk Antibody (9D10D1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Blk protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Blk (9D10D1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Blk protein, a member of the Src family of non-receptor tyrosine kinases, plays a crucial role in B cell signaling and development, as Blk is exclusively expressed in B lymphocytes. Blk protein regulates various cellular processes, including proliferation and differentiation of B cells, which are essential for the adaptive immune response. Blk protein is located in the cytoplasm and participates in signaling pathways that lead to B cell activation and maturation. Proper Blk function maintains immune homeostasis, and Blk dysregulation can lead to immunological disorders or contribute to cancer development. Human B lymphocyte kinase gene maps to chromosome 8p23.1 and encodes a 505 amino acid protein, highlighting Blk′s importance in the immune system.
