Bex1/2 Antibody (D-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Bex1/2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Bex1/2 (D-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The brain-expressed X-linked (Bex) family of proteins is predominantly expressed in the central nervous system, with highest levels found in the cerebellum, temporal lobe, and pituitary tissues. Bex1 is crucial for neuronal differentiation in response to nerve growth factor (NGF) and plays a significant role in cell cycle progression. Notably, Bex1 functions as a highly ubiquitinated protein that serves as a critical link between the cell cycle and neurotrophic factor signaling pathways. Additionally, Bex2 interacts with LMO2, which regulates transcriptional activity of a DNA-binding complex, highlighting intricate regulatory mechanisms involving these proteins. Both Bex1 and Bex2 are also expressed outside the central nervous system, particularly in the liver, and exhibit dynamic shuttling between the cytoplasm and nucleus. While Bex1′s precise role remains largely undefined, Bex1 coordinates internal cellular states with the ability of cells to respond to external signals, making Bex1 an important target for research in neurobiology and cellular signaling.
