βENaC Antibody (D-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the beta ENaC protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-βENaC antibody (D-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The epithelial sodium channel (ENaC) plays a crucial role in sodium reabsorption across the apical surface of epithelial cells in the kidney, distal colon, lungs, and exocrine glands, which is vital for maintaining fluid and electrolyte balance in the body. ENaC is composed of four homologous subunits—α, β, γ, and δ—that can form various heterotetramers, with the most common configuration being two α subunits, one β subunit, and one γ subunit. The proper functioning of ENaC is essential for regulating sodium levels, and mutations in the PY motifs located at the carboxy terminus of the subunits can lead to significant health issues. For instance, gain-of-function mutations in these motifs are associated with Liddle′s syndrome, a genetic condition that causes hypertension due to excessive sodium reabsorption, while loss-of-function mutations can result in pseudohypoaldosteronism type I, characterized by salt wasting and low blood pressure. βENaC monoclonal antibody (D-3) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying the physiological and pathological roles of ENaC in various tissues and conditions.

Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, βENaC (D-3): sc-25354 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
